Members, it is time to vote for your Board of Directors for the Northern New Mexico Chapter of ARMA International. Below is the slate of candidates. You will receive a ballot via email; please cast your vote prior to June 5, 2017.

Candidates for 2017/2018 Board of Directors, Northern New Mexico Chapter of ARMA International

President: Karen Payne, CRM

Karen Payne

Karen has been an ARMA member since 1990 and worked in information governance (IG) as a corporate Records Manager and as a self-employed consultant for over 25 years. Both prior to and since joining IMERGE, Karen has worked with clients in both the public and private sectors. Karen has a BA from East Carolina University and an MBA from Wake Forest University. She has served as VP-Membership, Milwaukee; VP-Membership, ARMA-Rio Grande; Membership Director, NNMARMA; and has been President since July 2015. She is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and is active as a volunteer in local organizations.

Vice President: Geoff Kelly

Geoff Kelly is the District Manager for Iron Mountain. Based in Austin, Texas, Geoff travels throughout the Southwest. He began at Iron Mountain in 1994 as an Account Manager, and has been an Operations Manager, General Manager, Shredding Services Manager, Vice President, and Director of Facilities and Compliance before his current position. While with the company he has worked in Albuquerque, Los Angeles, San Diego and Chicago. Geoff received his BS in Business Administration and Management from California State Polytechnic University—Pomona. He has been an ARMA member for more than 20 years with several chapters in the Southwest.

Treasurer: Nadine Montoya

Nadine Montoya is the Manager of the University & Archives Records Center at Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell. She has worked in higher education for the past 28 years. She was solely responsible for establishing the University Archives & Records Center in 2011 from the ground up, in which she takes great pride. Nadine has an AAS from the University of New Mexico and a BAAS from Eastern New Mexico University in Educational Technology. She has been an ARMA member since 2011.

Secretary: Julie Filatoff

Julie Filatoff is the Executive Assistant to the New Mexico State Treasurer. Prior to working at the State Treasurer’s Office, she was a Marketing Coordinator for several engineering firms, a role that requires extreme organizational and recordkeeping skills. She joined ARMA in 2016. Julie has a BA from California State University, Long Beach, in art and marketing. She has served on the boards of several non-profit arts organizations.

The two directors below are appointed by the board (not elected) but we thought this was a great time to introduce them to you.

Membership Director: Nadine Montoya

Education Director: Felecia Schreier

Felecia Schreier works for the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management in the Preparedness Bureau as the Training Coordinator and is also a Staff Instructor. Felecia provides oversight of the training records of state-provided DHS training and technical support to local jurisdictions in training access and documentation. She has a BA from California State University—Northridge and is a graduate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Emergency Management Academy. She has been an ARMA member for three years.
