Introduction to Records and Information Management Workshop

The New Mexico Commission of Public Records (NMCPR) in conjunction with New Mexico Historical Records Advisory Board (NMHRAB) invites everyone to participate in an informative workshop at the State Records Center and Archives on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Records and information management present unique challenges to federal, state, and local government (all levels), and private business owners. This workshop will cover a broad range of records management subjects including:

  • requirements for establishing a successful records management program
  • access and security in records management
  • establishing responsibility for records management
  • records lifecycle
  • file maintenance systems
  • and other additional topics in relation to the establishment a records management program within an organization.

The workshop will also cover digitization of records including:

  • industry format standards
  • planning and costs
  • benefits
  • integration and preservation
  • storage
  • and disposition of digitized records.

Professional records management division staff at the Commission of Public Records in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will present this full-day workshop.
